DMHS Academic Decathlon Places 2nd in Conference!
In a meteoric rise, the 2011-2012 Aca Deca team has proven extremely resilient, taking 2nd place in Conference for the first time and rising to a top 20 finish in the District overall. Saturday, February 4th, DMHS hosted a Debate Tournament. Fittingly, in the Varsity competition, our students defended their home court, taking 1st through 4th place! DMHS Student invited to White House Science Fair!
We are proud to announce that DMHS student Hayley Hoverter was invited to attend the White House Science Fair for High School students as part of the Obama Administration initiative to promote excellence in math and science. Hayley was invited to present her innovative Sweet (Dis)Solve product, a paperless sweetener that dissolves in warm beverages. DMHS Student Takes 1st Place in Speech Competition!
Congratulations to Eric Craig for his outstanding performance at the Lions Club 75th Annual Speech Competition. He won 1st place at the district competition, which brought him a monetary award of $75, and will advance to the next round of the competition. Shine on, Suns!

Although the state has approved a cut of $248 million dollars from the education transportation budget, Superintendent John Deasy has assured all LAUSD families that school bus transportation will run as normal when we return from winter break.

Two DMHS Teachers Awarded National Board Certification!
